Erdogan Vows to Fight 'Genocide Networks' Killing Gaza Civilians

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared Thursday that Türkiye would press on in defending the "common values of humanity" against what he called the "genocide networks" responsible for civilian deaths in Gaza and Lebanon.

Erdogan delivered the remarks at the EFES-2026 Combined, Joint, and Live-Fire Field Exercise in the western city of Izmir, using the high-profile military showcase as a platform to reaffirm Ankara's regional ambitions and moral posture amid escalating Middle East tensions.

The Turkish president acknowledged a climate of global uncertainty, but insisted his country was actively working to cement its role as a pivotal force for stability — particularly across its immediate neighborhood.

"As Türkiye, we will continue to stand for peace and stability against those investing in war and chaos," he said.

The statement signals Ankara's continued willingness to position itself as a leading voice in the Muslim world on the Gaza conflict, doubling down on rhetoric that has placed Erdogan increasingly at odds with Israel and its Western backers.
