(MENAFN- Colombo Gazette) tourism Minister Harin Fernando sent a detailed breakdown of his overseas visits to National People's Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Dissanayake had requested a detailed account of the expenses incurred during the foreign trips of Ministers Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara.

Fernando sent a breakdown of his overseas visits through a letter addressed to Dissanayake, Thursday, the Ministry of Sports said.

Speaking at a public event in Japan, Dissanayake had challenged President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Tourism Minister Harin Fernando and Foreign Employment Minister Manusha Nanayakkara to reveal the expenses of their recent overseas visits.

In his letter to the NPP Leader, Fernando noted the significant challenges faced when taking over the Ministry of Tourism, emphasizing that it occurred at a time when the tourism industry was nearly non-existent.

He highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in rebuilding the industry over the past two years, resulting in a historic record of success.
