Najjar Inaugurates International Sculpture Symposium

Amman, July 25 (Petra) - Minister of Culture, Haifa Najjar, on Thursday opened International Sculpture Symposium at the School of Arts and Design at University of Jordan (UJ) in Amman.
The event is being held within the activities of the 38th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, with the participation of Jordanian, Arab and foreign artists.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Najjar valued the UJ's cooperation to hold this symposium as part of the festival's activities in the school's venues.
Najjar also said fine arts of all kinds are part of the "creative" cultural industries, which the ministry attaches "remarkable" importance.
The artists participating in the symposium will create 12 sculptures, which will be donated by the festival administration to the Jordanian governorates, according to a ministry statement.
