Unknown Assailants Bomb Girls' Middle School In North Waziristan's Mir Ali


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) Mir Ali, North Waziristan - In a devastating incident last night, unknown assailants bombed a girls' middle school in the Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan.

Following the military Operation Zarb-e-Azb, the targeting of girls' schools in North Waziristan has resumed. Previously, miscreants had bombed a girls' public school in the tehsil of Shawal, an incident that caught the attention of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who subsequently allocated funds for its reconstruction. Similarly, another primary school in the tehsil of Razmak was destroyed by explosives.

Aneeqa Tauqeer, the District Education Officer (DEO) of North Waziristan, provided details about the latest attack. According to the school's watchman, around 25 individuals entered the school premises last night, took him hostage, and led him outside the school. Shortly after, three to four explosions were heard. The blasts completely destroyed seven classrooms. Anika noted that the school had been educating 255 female students.

The Mir Ali police have stated that they are investigating the incident from all possible angles.

It is important to note that North Waziristan houses 407 high schools, 12 middle schools, and 65 primary schools, with girls' schools often being the primary targets.
