Agriculture Ministry, Lutheran Federation Sign Agreement To Aid Host Communities, Refugees In Irbid

Amman, July 17 (Petra) - The Ministry of Agriculture and the Lutheran World Federation signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the second phase of a project aimed at improving the lives of host communities and Syrian refugees in Irbid Governorate.
According to a statement by the ministry on Wednesday, the memorandum was signed by the Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hanifat, and the representative of the Lutheran Federation in Jordan and Syria, Amira Khamis.
The ministry stated that the project budget amounts to $625,264 and aims to continue the aquaculture and livestock projects established in the first phase. This phase also includes the distribution of 60 heads of goats and fodder, with direct supervision and coordination by the ministry.
Hanifat appreciated the Lutheran Federation's cooperation in directing external support and grants towards such productive activities, expressing the ministry's readiness to utilize all its capabilities to serve the project and guide the community to benefit directly from these initiatives.
Khamis emphasized the ongoing commitment to cooperating in developing the agricultural sector and supporting the community.
