(MENAFN) Masoud Pezeshkian, Iran's president-elect, has articulated a commitment to deepening relations with Russia, whom he describes as “a valued strategic partner.” In an article titled "My message to the new world," published by the *Tehran Times* on Friday, Pezeshkian outlined his foreign policy priorities ahead of his inauguration on July 30.

He emphasized that Tehran would prioritize its relationship with Moscow on both a bilateral basis and within international frameworks, including BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Additionally, Pezeshkian expressed his administration's intention to actively support initiatives aimed at resolving the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. He highlighted the significance of Iran's friendships with both China and Russia, particularly during challenging times, stating, “We deeply value this friendship.”
Pezeshkian secured his presidential position last week, winning against his opponent Saeed Jalili with 53.7percentof the votes compared to Jalili's 44.3percentin a runoff election. This election was necessitated by the tragic death of former President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash in May.
