UNDP Keen To Cooperate With Azerbaijan In All Areas Of Green Economy


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. The United NationsDevelopment Program (UNDP) is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan inall directions related to a green economy, Trend reports.

According to the information, this was stated at the meeting ofAzerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov with acting UNDPResident Representative in Azerbaijan Alessandra Roccasalvo onApril 29.

The meeting focused on the development of long-term relationsbetween the countries in the field of green energy technologies andthe wide use of energy efficiency.

"During the conversation, the sides discussed measures onforthcoming energy efficiency improvement in municipalities, publicbuildings, and schools, as well as the activity of the EnergyEfficiency Fund, the establishment of centralized heat supply usingrenewable energy sources, and the and the preparation andimplementation of the National Plan of Electromobility," theinformation noted.

The sides discussed the status of the implementation of projectson the production and export of energy from renewable energysources and the construction of regional interconnectors for greenenergy.

Additionally, it was noted at the meeting that the energy supplyof the liberated territories will be based on the concept of greenenergy.

The parties also discussed opportunities for cooperation inconnection with Azerbaijan's chairmanship at COP29.
