MSDF, Jusour To Provide Jobs In Private Sector

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) signed a cooperation document with the Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour) to provide employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the private sector.

Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, who is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Manpower Solutions Company (Jusour), Minister of Social Development and Family H E Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad attended the signing ceremony along with several officials from both sides.

In a statement, MSDF said that this cooperation aligns with the ministry's primary role in implementing policies related to family care and social welfare. It emphasises the importance of achieving national strategic and developmental goals in the field of social protection to support both Qatari and non-Qatari individuals belonging to target groups, including people with disabilities.

MSDF added that the collaboration between the ministry and the company also provides an opportunity to achieve common goals within their respective areas of expertise. The collaboration aims to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the private sector that match their abilities and needs. The ministry explained that it will conduct personal interviews with job seekers to determine suitable positions based on their qualifications.

In this context, Assistant Undersecretary for Family Affairs H E Sheikha Sheikha bint Jassem Al Thani stated that the ministry, through the Jusour initiative, seeks to activate its role and responsibilities towards people with disabilities.

She added that through this collaboration, the ministry aspires to provide suitable employment opportunities for people with disabilities, integrate them into society, and empower them both occupationally and socially. She said that the ministry welcomes the initiatives of the private sector regarding job seekers with disabilities.

Sheikha Sheikha Al Thani highlighted that Qatar was one of the first countries to ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2008, adding that Qatar is considered a pioneer in protecting their rights, fully integrating them into society, and involving them in the development process.

Regarding the employment mechanism through this cooperation with“Jusour,” she explained that the process involves the Ministry of Social Development and Family providing Jusour with a list containing the names of job seekers with disabilities, adding that each case's type of disability will be identified, and candidates will be nominated for positions based on their abilities and qualifications, as well as medical reports and recommendations from the Ministry of Public Health.

In this context, she noted that Jusour would coordinate with relevant authorities to conduct personal interviews with job seekers with disabilities before hiring them, aiming to match individuals with suitable job positions.

CEO of Jusour Eng. Abdulhadi Barqan said that this collaboration follows the launch of the“Sahem” platform by Jusour, which supports the employment of people with disabilities in the private sector.

He added that Jusour would provide job opportunities for people with disabilities, both Qatari and non-Qatari residents. A special link has been allocated to them on the company's website, making it accessible and navigable for all groups. The launch of the“Sahem” platform took place in June with a focus on serving university students.
