Qatar Skydivers Claim Silver At Fai 2023 World Cup Championship In Norway

Oslo: Qatar 8-Way Formation Skydiving Team, an affiliate of Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC) of the Ministry of Defense's Joint Special Forces, claimed silver at the FAI 2023 World Cup Championship at Voss, Norway.

The Qatari team secured 177 points to finish second in the tournament that featured teams from 24 countries from August 22 to 26.

Commander of the Joint Special Forces Staff, Chairman of QASC HE Brigadier General Jassim bin Ali Al Attiyah thanked the wise leadership, which is keen to provide all means of support for Qatari sports people to achieve the best results in all world competitions. His Excellency also extended thanks to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs HE Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah and Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces Staff HE Lt. General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit.

His Excellency hailed the Qatar skydiving team's outstanding performance against the best ranked teams in the world.

QASC's Vice-Chairman Abdullah Saeed Al Mansouri hailed the achievement as a reflection of the development of this difficult sport in Qatar, highlighting the role of the overseas training camps the team had ahead of the tournament.
