Jordan’s King Abdullah confirms law that bans usage of VPN

(MENAFN) Jordan's King Abdullah has confirmed law that prohibits the use of virtual private networks and limits what citizens could state and write on the internet.

The irresistibly pro-government assembly approved the ruling through July and it was moved to the king for official authorization.

Nidal Mansour, chief of the Centre for Defending Freedom of Journalists, in Amman, had wished that the king would have rejected the bill because it broadens "freedom depriving" rules under the removal of the authorities.

Mr Mansour declared that young citizens in Jordan can be having trouble with of the unclear ruling without knowing when they have disrupted it. "It will strain the judiciary," stated Mr Mansour.

The lawmaking division in Jordan is overpoweringly pro-government and the king grips most rules in the nations. He hardly ever declines law.

On July 26, a United States State Department representative condemned the bill as preventing freedom of expression in Jordan as well as having the possibility to drive away stockholders.
