Moci Closes Businesses For Selling Defective Honey

Doha Qatar: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) announced that three business establishments shops were closed for violating Article (6) of Law No. 8 of 2008 on Consumer Protection.

The shops, as per the Ministry, were closed down for selling, trading, and displaying honey that does not conform prescribed health specifications.

MoCI announced that all three shops will be closed for a period of two weeks.

Article 6 of Law No 8 of 2008 states that "the consumer shall be entitled to fair compensation for any property or financial damage sustained by him, " and that "no defective or adulterated commodity shall be sold, displayed, promoted or advertised."
