(MENAFN- Khaama Press) The US CENTCOM Commander Michael Erik Kurilla said in a news release, due to concerns about unsafe and unprofessional behavior by Russian planes, the US deployed F-22 fighter jets to the Middle East this week. CENTCOM Commander said the unsafe behavior of Russian forces indicates they are far from a professional air force.
Michael Kurilla further added that the continuous violation of agreed measures to resolve airspace conflicts by the Russian air force increases the risk of escalations and security threats.
CENTCOM described F-22 Raptors as the most dangerous fighter jets (fifth generation), which has ever been used in military operations.
Meanwhile, CENTCOM Commander stated that the deployment of fighter aircraft and its integration into coalition operations shows the joint commitment of the US and its allies to long-term peace and stability in the region.
This comes as aggressive Russian flights in the region have increased in the recent past according to US officials. The US has continued having interactions with Russian aircraft in the Middle East, particularly in and around Syria.
Moreover, Russia's military operation is continuing in Ukraine with new escalations on the ground. Russian forces have continued striking Ukraine, while Ukrainian forces have also repelled with new counteroffensives aimed at retaking control of the occupied regions in Eastern Ukraine.
