São Paulo – Jordan's aghati for sweets & ice cream company , a manufacturer of Eastern and Arab sweets, has doubled its production capacity this year to meet the increased demand in the domestic and international market. The company exports to over 45 counties and wants to supply products to Brazil, too.

The family business was founded in 1945. The Aghati brand was created seven years ago to expand exports and reach global markets.

The company's Export director Annas Alhomsi (pictured), said that, since the production capacity has doubled this year, it now reaches 10,000 tons a day, taking into account all items manufactured.

He added that the leading markets Aghati exports to are the Arab countries, Europe, the United States, Canada, and Australia. But there are plans to enter new markets in both Latin America and Africa.

The company participated in the APAS Show 2023 in São Paulo in May to identify the needs of the Brazilian consumer and packaging requirements.

In fact, the company benefited from the opinions of visitors of the show both this year and last year. It is studying how to modify the packaging as the Brazilian consumer prefer small sizes of up to 500 grams, unlike the Arab population, who likes packages of one or two kilograms.

In order to encourage the Brazilian consumer to try the products, the company has also studied how to modify the presentation of the product on the package to be in Portuguese.

Alhomsi estimated the share of exports of the company's total output to be at around 70%. The company also seeks to establish branches in some countries to increase its customer base and expand.
