General Staff: Enemy Fired 15 Missiles, 18 Drones At Ukraine Overnight, All Targets Destroyed


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Russian aggressors used 15 cruise missiles and 18 Iranian-made Shahed kamikaze drones to attack Ukraine overnight, with all of the targets destroyed by Ukraine's air defense forces.

The General Staff of the armed forces of Ukraine reported this on facebook , according to Ukrinform.

"The Russian Federation, suffering heavy losses, continues to use terror tactics in an attempt to intimidate the Ukrainian population. According to preliminary information, last night the enemy used 15 cruise missiles (type to be specified) and 18 Iranian Shahed attack UAVs for strikes - all these aerial targets were destroyed by our defenders. The information is being clarified," the General Staff said.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy launched 12 missile strikes using ten Iskander ballistic and cruise missiles on Kyiv (destroyed by Ukrainian defenders) and two S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles on Kharkiv. In addition, the enemy carried out 46 air strikes and launched 107 attacks using multiple rocket launchers against the positions of Ukrainian troops and settlements. Unfortunately, civilians were killed and injured, including children, and a children's clinic, residential buildings, private houses and other civilian infrastructure were damaged.

The probability of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high, the General Staff warned.

The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on attempts to completely occupy the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. In the past 24 hours, Ukraine's defense forces repelled 25 enemy attacks.

According to the General Staff, the Russian invaders continue the forced passportization of the population in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region. In particular, the occupation administration set September 1 of this year as the deadline for obtaining a Russian passport with a mandatory written refusal of a Ukrainian passport. Also, local energy companies report on the mandatory re-signing of new contracts for the supply of electricity only with those holding a Russian passport.

All Ukrainian citizens who refuse to receive Russian documents are threatened with the termination of electricity supply, deportation, confiscation of property and forced eviction from their homes.

"In the past day, the aircraft of the defense forces carried out nine strikes on areas where [Russian] military personnel and equipment were stationed, as well as four strikes on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems. Our defenders destroyed two enemy Lancet attack UAVs and an Orlan-10 reconnaissance UAV. Over the past 24 hours, units of rocket troops and artillery hit a command post, an anti-aircraft missile system, five artillery units in firing positions, and nine areas of concentration of enemy weapons and military equipment!" the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
