Iran successfully test-launched a ballistic missile with a potential 2,000 km range on Thursday.

Two days before the missile launch, the commander of Israel's armed forces suggested“action” against Tehran in response to its nuclear program.

According to Reuters, Iran, which has one of the most extensive missile programs in the Middle East, claims its weapons can reach the regional bases of Israel and the United States, two of its bitter adversaries.

The Islamic Republic has said it will continue to advance its“defensive” missile program despite resistance from the United States and Europe.

“Our message to Iran's enemies is that we will defend the country and its achievements. Our message to our friends is that we want to help regional stability,” Iranian Defence Minister Mohammadreza Ashtiani said.

“The domestically-build Kheibar missile's outstanding features include quick preparation and launch time, which makes it a tactical weapon in addition to a strategic one,” The state news agency IRNA said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran does not recognize Israel, which views Iran as an existential danger. According to Iran, its ballistic missiles represent a significant deterrent and punitive weapon against the US, Israel, and other prospective regional rivals.
