China becomes largest automobile exporter due to high EV demand


(MENAFN) Nikkei news outlet announced that during this week, China has become the world’s biggest automobile exporter in the January-March period of this year, as quoting information from China Association of Automobile Manufacturing.

Based on the declaration, the Chinese automobile shipments has rose by 58 percent in the first three months of 2023 in comparison to the same time span last year, to 1.07 million units.

Throughout this period, the previous biggest exporter, Japan, has exchanged 950,00 automobiles. Information indicates that the expansion in China`s automobile shipments was triggered by the increasing request for electric automobiles and amplified exports to Russia.

Shipments of new energy automobiles, which contains EVs, has increased to 93 percent on a yearly basis to 380.000 units from January-March, also accumulated for almost 40 percent of Chinas total automobile.

Tesla`s China ally was the biggest donor in new energy automobile shipments, trading 90,000 units in the above-mentioned time span. Tesla`s first three months shipments from China raised by 20 percent in comparison with 2022.
