CAAB Chairman Urges Code-Sharing Between Air Canada, Biman


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka : Lilly Nicholls, High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh paid a courtesy call to Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh on April 10 at CAAB headquarters in the capital.

During the meeting, increasing mutual cooperation and communication between the two country's aviation sectors was sought as well as strengthening the relationship between Bangladesh and Canada.

With the aim of increasing air transport between Bangladesh and Canada, discussions were held on increasing connectivity through code-sharing between Air Canada and Biman Bangladesh Airlines, among other international airlines operating in the country.

Chairman of CAAB requested the High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh to provide Biman Bangladesh Airlines with necessary support regarding the approval of passenger pick-up and drop-off at the intermediate stopover point on its Dhaka-Toronto flight.

He also requested her to consider the issue of code-sharing between Biman Bangladesh Airlines and the domestic airlines of Canada.

The Canadian envoy assured maximum cooperation in this regard, said a press release.

Following the growing relation between Bangladesh and Canada, areas of investment by Canada in the development of aviation infrastructure, training and technical assistance were discussed at the meeting.

The meeting concluded with the hope that communication between the civil aviation and air transport organisations of the two friendly countries will increase further.
