Lectures By Scholars At Katara Continue To Draw Wide Audience

The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, hosted on Saturday a lecture by Sheikh Dr. Othman Al Khamis, which he delivered as part of the Katara Ramadan activities organised by Katara under the title“Spring of the Quran” in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and the Qimam Center, in the presence of a large crowd of audience.

The lecturer warned against belittling disobedience and sins, underestimating them, and being negligent in committing them and minimising their impact.

“Because whoever commits these minor sins and despises them and does not pay attention to them forgets them with the passage of time and does not repent of them,” he said.

In the same context, the audience of the Cultural Village, Katara, watched a variety of distinguished events, including a number of lectures and intellectual and awareness-raising meetings in various fields.

Among is a lecture entitled“On the ease of kinship relations in Ramadan,” which comes as part of the“Ramadan Nights in Literature and Culture” event, and was presented by Dr. Noureddine Al Khademi at the Katara Novel Library in Building 48.

Dr. Mahmoud Al Derini also gave a lecture in Building 18 entitled“The Elderly and Chronic Diseases,” where he exposed diseases that particularly affect the elderly, presenting to the audience a set of useful health advice, which contributes to enhancing health awareness of the importance of maintaining sound health.

On the other hand, children at Taktara Art Studios followed a distinguished workshop by the artist and trainer Dina Hammam, entitled“A Gift for Parents.” The kids were trained in a number of artistic techniques in working on a distinctive artistic project that mixed colours and drawings to be a beautiful gift presented by them to their parents in a message aimed at promoting the righteousness of parents in children and emphasising the importance of morals and values in the modern upbringing of the child.
