Slovakia Declares It Will Send Fighter Jet To Ukraine

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) VIENNA, March 17 (KUNA) -- Slovakia has decided to supply fighter jets to Ukraine, becoming the second NATO member state to take such a move after Poland.
Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger told the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) on Friday that his government decided to dispatch 13 Mig-29 (Soviet-made) jet fighters to the Ukrainian air force.
Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad indicated in a statement that the 'deal would warrant several weeks to be accomplished.'
Ukraine has been at war with Russia since more than a year ago, when Moscow launched 'the special military operation,' at pretext that Kyiv was seeking alliances with Moscow's foes, namely western powers. (end)
