Iranian ports witness 9 percent rise in export, import during first 10 months YoY
(MENAFN) The import and export of goods in the ports of Iran surged by 9 percent in the opening 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2022-January 20, 2023), in comparison with the same span of time in the last year.
As the nation’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) mentioned in a report, 181,055,811 tons of goods were imported and exported in the ports throughout the 10 months time span.
Throughout the stated time span, export and import operations in the container industry amounted to 2,100,506 TEUs, which stood at 12 percent over the 1,870,370 TEUs in the opening 10 months of the last year.
According to the figures earlier issued by Transport and Urban Development Ministry, the export and import of commodities in the ports of Iran increased 17 percent throughout the prior Iranian calendar year 1400 (closed on March 20, 2022), in comparison with the last year.
