Doha: Former Al Sadd SC player Abdelkarim Hassan has officially signed for Al Jahra SC of the Kuwait Premier League.

The transfer details are yet to be disclosed by Al Jahra. The signing was announced through Al Jahra's official media.

A month ago, Al Sadd announced via a club statement that it was parting ways with Hassan.

The statement said the reason for it parting ways with Hassan was“due to the player's outlook not matching the goals and aspirations of the team for the upcoming period.'

Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, during an Al Kass TV interview, said that strict disciplinary action was being taken against Hassan for having provoked fans through the social app Snapchat.

Hassan was chosen Asian Footballer of the Year in 2018, and won the 2011 AFC Champions League with Al Sadd.

Hassan's goal against Uzbek Lokomotiv in the third round of the 2015 AFC Champions League was also chosen by the AFC among the top five long-range goals in the tournament.

Abdelkarim Hassan represented the Qatar national team over 100 times, and was part of the Qatar World Cup 2022 squad.
