Unsilenced Voices Chosen For Sierra Leone Episode In 4Th Season Of Byutv's Hit Show, The Fixers

Los Angeles, CA, USA – January 23, 2023 – Kirin Stone, Nick Apostolides, Courtney Dober, and newest member Andrea Sweeney Blanco are The Fixers. They travel the world to work with local volunteers to build, rebuild, or renovate a desperately needed structure in the community. Every project is a race against time with life-changing results.





Unsilenced Voices will be featured in an entire episode dedicated to Unsilenced Voices' Sierra Leone location where The Fixers will build much-needed infrastructure for one of the villages that they support and educate.



Unsilenced Voices' mission is to rehabilitate victims of domestic violence and spread awareness to create sustainable change surrounding this epidemic in communities around the globe.

The episode will be filmed between February 14-24, 2023, with Michelle Jewsbury and volunteers Gaylene Popovski and Melanie Hicks also taking part in the construction. The program is set to premiere in late 2023.

“We are currently working in Ghana, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and the USA,” said Unsilenced Voices founder, Michelle Jewsbury.“In 2022 we gave USA survivors over $33,000 in subsidies to help with relocation, childcare needs, transportation, and more. In Sierra Leone, we have 26 survivors that we support with school, lunch, counseling, and medical plus we have over 50 survivors on the waitlist to be served.”

Unsilenced Voices works with the Bo Women's Vocational Center to pay for survivors' job skills training, leading to employment beyond the scx trade.“Additionally, we lead 3 monthly sensitization trainings to combat the silence and cultural acceptance of domestic violence,” added Jewsbury.“We are proud to build on this work with upcoming school-age trainings with local youth.”
