Pakistan Has The Right To Defend Itself Against Threats Of Terrorism: US
(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Ned Price, the Spokesperson of the United States Department of State has said that Pakistan has every right to defend itself against the growing threats of terrorism.
The U.S. Department of States Spokesperson Ned Price on Tuesday defended Pakistan's decisiveness against the terror groups and said, the people of Pakistan have immensely suffered from terror attacks over the past years. Therefore, Pakistan has the absolute right to defend itself against the threats of terrorism.
This comes as Pakistan's National Security Council chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday conducted a consultative meeting with the country's high-ranking military and security officials to discuss security issues and rising militancy in the country.
During the meeting, it was clearly stated that no country can host terrorism if it wants to be part of the international community, and not to live in complete isolation.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Center for Strategic and International Studies has highlighted in its annual report that the number of terror incidents in the country has been the highest in December over the past decade resulting in the death and injury of scores of civilians and military personnel.
Islamabad has pointed out that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) uses Afghan soil to launch their attacks on Pakistan, prompting serious criticism from the Afghan Taliban authorities in Kabul describing the act as 'provocative and irresponsible'.
Furthermore, former president Hamid Karzai has asked Pakistan to avoid hurling threats and revisit its policy towards Afghanistan to normalize the situation between the countries and jointly combat the common enemy which possess threats to the security of both countries and rejoin in the long term.
