Doha: During the first four days of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament, Doha Metro and Lusail Tram transported 2,442,963 passengers to their various destinations, especially toward the tournament stadiums, recreational spaces and fan zones.
Doha Metro scored a record growth with its users during the first four days of the tournament, where the total number of the passengers who were transported via the tree lines to various terminals and destinations reached 2,351,244 passengers.
In its daily statistics, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) reported that the total number of the users of Lusail Tram reached roughly 91719 passengers during the same period, which translates the efficiency and capability of the modern transportation networks that were previously customized by the state to secure the seamless and easy transference of the tournament fans, citizens and residents.
The total number of metro users during the tournament opening on Nov. 20 reached roughly 544,962 passengers, where West Bay stations,Souq Waqif and DECC witnessed a high turnout, whilst the total number of users in the next day reached roughly 529,904 passengers the majority of them used Msheireb stations, Souq Waqif and DECC, while the number of users reached 650,881 passengers last Tuesday. Lusail, DECC and Souq Waqif stations toped the list of the most used destinations, with the number reaching 625,497 passengers on Wednesday.

With regard to Lusail Tram, the number of metro users in the first day reached 21906 passengers, 21187 passengers in the second day, 23291 passengers in the third day and 25335 passengers yesterday.
To receive substantial number of visitors and fans, Qatar Rail intended to increase the hours of operations for the three metro lines: red, green and gold lines with the objective of offering safe movement experience for all.
Since the launch of the tournament and until this day, Doha Metro and Lusail Tram have been contributing to facilitating the transportation of fans between various stadiums and events areas, and thus they are the best means of transportation to enjoy the tournament and live its enthusiastic football atmospheres.
Doha Metro is a sophisticated rail network,and most of it extends underground linking the major areas inside the capital Doha and its vicinities together, while Lusail Tram is a Tram network that offers comfortable and suitable means of transportation inside new Lusail city.
