After FBI raid, Trump claims nuclear weapons problem is fabrication

(MENAFN) In reaction to a Washington Post story that FBI investigators searched his Florida residence on Monday in search of nuclear papers, former US President Donald Trump declared that the "nuclear weapons problem is a fiction."

The Washington Post reported on Thursday that the search highlights the worry among federal officials about the kinds of material kept at Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach club where Trump resides, and the risk of it getting into the wrong hands. The post cited knowledgeable individuals and experts.

The statement cites analysts as saying that material about nuclear weapons is "especially sensitive and usually restricted to a small number of government officials.”

According to The Post, it was unclear whether these records had been found at Trump's Palm Beach home.

Trump said that the " nuclear weapons issue is a hoax" on his Truth Social startup social media site on Friday morning, connecting it to controversies regarding Russia, his two impeachments, and the Mueller probe.

"Same sleazy people involved," he asserted.
