In 2022, the Moscow Metro has already received 168 Moskva-2020 cars

(MENAFN- Moscow Metro ) Within six months, the Moscow Metro has received 168 new Moskva-2020cars. Now more than 100 trainswith cars of this model run on the Circle Line, Big Circle Line and Line 6.
New metro Moskva-2020 cars are more convenient and spacious for passengers than its predecessors. The noise level in new trains was reduced by 15 percent, they also have a wider transition between cars which is 1,6 meters. The trains are equipped with bigger LCDs, screens on the ceiling,and side route displays on the exterior of the train to better inform passengers. 8-car trains also have 368 USB chargers for devices.
“Renewal of the Moscow Transport rolling stock is one of the priority tasks set by the Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. Since 2010, more than 4 thousand new cars produced by domestic enterprises have been supplied for the metro. Already 70% of passengers travel in modern and comfortable trains, and our metro has the largest fleet of cars in Europe. During the last six months, we purchased 168 new Moskva-2020 cars: more than 100 trains of this series are in operation in the Moscow Metro. They are more convenient and quieter than their predecessors”, — said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for transport
The design of Moskva-2020 was recognized internationally. In 2021, it won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021. The international jury unanimously gave it the highest score in the category Trains and Planes.
Earlier it was reported that by 2024, the Moscow Metro train fleet would be the youngest in Europe. The average age of the trains will be reduced to 10 years. In 2022 and 2023, the Moscow Metro will receive about 660 new cars.
