
Tear Gas And Water Cannons Fired Near Diyatha Uyana
The Police fired tear gas and water cannons near Diyatha Uyana to disperse a group of protesters.
The protest was organized by the joint trade unions for the protection of petroleum resources.
According to the Police, tear gas and water cannons were fired when the protesters attempted to break through Police barriers placed along the road leading to Parliament.
A number of roads around Parliament were closed as a result of the protest. (Colombo Gazette)
