Mysuru, July 1 (KNN) The 10-day handicraft expo, organised by the Industrial Extension cottage (Indext-C) at JSS Mysuru Urban Haat begins tomorrow.

More than 90 handicraft artisans from the state will take part in the event.

Around 50 dance artists will present the popular folk dance 'Garba' in the evening of the first three days of the expo.

Dr Bagadi Gautham, Mysuru Depty Commissioner will inaugurate the Utsav.

Addressing at the press conference organised at the Mysuru press club, the department of technical education joint director, Dr H R Mahadevaswamy said“Indext-C has been conducting the Gujarat handicrafts utsav at JSS Mysuru Urban Haat for the last seven years to promote and spread the art and culture of Gujarat.”

The event will also witness the presence of Dr. C G Betsurmath, Executive Secretary and Administrative head of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, T H M Kumar, Commissioner for Textile Development and Director of Handloom & Textiles, D Roopa Moudgil, Chairperson and Managing Director of the Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Cooperation (KSHDC) amongst others.
