Balhaneen Street Features Pedestrian-Friendly Space
The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places has developed Balhaneen Street as part of the West Bay North Beach project, creating a pedestrian-friendly space by widening sidewalks, adding trees, providing street furniture and decorative lighting, and upgrading the road to granite.
The committee had on Sunday announced the opening of the street towards Al Dafna Intersection and part of Al Dafna Road, in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic.
The length of the completed works from Balhaneen Street to the Al Dafna signal is 1.55km.
The new opening will improve traffic and reduce congestion for road users, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) said.
