SPA Tours Construction Works Of Project To Expand Quba Mosque, Accompanying Facilities

(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Madinah, June 1, 2022, SPA – The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) toured construction works to expand Quba Mosque and its yards as part of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's project to expand the mosque and develop the surrounding area.
The project is the biggest expansion of the mosque since its establishment in the first Hijri year, where its capacity is expected to reach 66,000 worshippers with an area of 50,000 square meters, which is 10 times its current area.
Quba Mosque has received much attention throughout history, starting from the Prophet, Rashidi, Umayyad and Abbasid caliphates and the Saudi reign, where all these efforts have contributed to maintaining its architectural patterns.
Quba Mosque is among the biggest in Al-Madinah after the Prophet's Holy Mosque, and it is the first mosque built by Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him.
