Qatar Chamber Reviews Enhancing Cooperation Ties With Brazil
Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Towar Al Kuwari met yesterday with the Secretary-General of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) Tamer Mansour and Regional Advisor for GCC, Iraq, and Yemen Shaheen Ali Shaheen.
The meeting touched on economic and commercial cooperation between Qatar and Brazil and investment opportunities available on both sides.
It also discussed the possibility of organising a business visit for a Brazilian trade delegation to Qatar this month with the participation of more than 50 businessmen and many Brazilian officials to review investment opportunities available on both sides and incentives offered for investors in Brazil.
Further, the delegation invited Qatar Chamber and Qatari businessmen to participate in the fourth edition of Economic Forum Brazil and Arab Countries which will be organised by the ABCC in São Paulo on July 4, 2022.
The event, which coincides with the 70th anniversary celebrations of the ABCC, will highlight investment opportunities on both sides and ways to enhance cooperation between the Arab and Brazilian private sectors.
During the event, Al Kuwari expressed the Chamber's readiness to host the Brazilian delegation in Doha, affirming that the visit will open news areas for cooperation between Qatari firms and their Brazilin counterparts.
He also assured the Chamber's strong interest to participate in the Economic Forum, noting that Qatar and Brazil enjoyed close relations.
As for mutual investments, he said Brazil is one of the most distinguished destinations for Qatari investments, stressing that it hosts many successful Qatari investments in various sectors.
Al Kuwari also reiterated that Qatari investors and businessmen are interested in learning about investment opportunities in Brazil.
Also speaking during the meeting, Mansour praised the distinct relations between Brazil and Arab countries, pointing out that Brazil is rife with plenty of opportunities in various sectors such as mining and energy. Mansour also went on to invite Qatari businessmen to invest in Brazil.
