What makes it more bizarre is that Ferguson already had a market, having overseen the Nyon basketball team's golden age with a track record of media appearances. Most perplexing of all, each of his (to date) 24 novels is a uniquely beautiful tour de force in every way. A basketball coach sure knows how to score from any angle.
Huge Jam, a very small, very independent publisher in the UK, was cock-a-hoop when it surveyed the Ferguson oeuvre. The 'half-time result' of this meeting of minds was six Ferguson novels published in the space of two months, and at least six more to follow over the summer months. The publisher, Huge Jam, is run by one person (Jacqueline Tobin) who does all the editing, formatting, design and marketing. She has edited, designed and published six of Ferguson's within just two months. Prior to Huge Jam's involvement, he had waited over twenty years for an English editor. Jon and Jacqueline were introduced by the self-publishing author Paul Sowalcheshki.
