Bashundhara To Give CRAB Permanent Office

Bashundhara Group has pledged to stand by the journalist community of the country in any situation.

Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir has also pledged to provide a permanent office for the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) as soon as possible.

The Bashundhara Group MD has assured the CRAB of giving Tk 3 lakh to a family in case of the death of any CRAB member and minimum assistance of Tk 50,000 if any CRAB member becomes seriously ill or injured while performing professional duties.
Sayem Sobhan Anvir gave the pledges when the CRAB Executive Committee paid a courtesy call on him in his residence in Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital on Sunday.

“Bashundhara Group has been contributing to the welfare of journalists as they are dedicated to the country and the nation. It has sincerely stood by journalists when they asked for help in any problem or crisis. Journalists will find me by their side in any situation in the future,” he said.

Sayem Sobhan Anvir hoped that the standard of journalism in the country would be a world standard.

“May journalists get their due honour,” he said, hoping that all the journalists live well.

The Bashundhara Group MD said they have already set up several media houses to create jobs for journalists and paved opportunities to do courageous journalism.

CRAB President Mirza Mehedi Tamal led the delegation comprising executive committee members and CRAB Advisory Council.
During the meeting, CRAB General Secretary Asaduzzaman Biku placed the organisation's expectations on behalf of the executive committee.

The managing director of Bashundhara Group listened to them attentively.

CRAB Chief Adviser Shankar Kumar Dey, Advisers Khairuzzaman Kamal, SM Abul Hossain, Parvez Khan, Madhusudan Mandal and Fakhrul Alam Kanchan also spoke on the occasion.

In their speeches, they highly lauded the contributions of Bashundhara Group. These senior journalists expressed their gratitude to Bashundhara Group for being generous towards journalists.

CRAB Vice-President Muhammad Jahangir Alam, Joint General Secretary Imran Hossain Sumon, Finance Secretary Saiful Islam Montu, Organising Secretary Ataur Rahman, Office Secretary Ismail Hussain Emu, Publicity and Publication Affairs Secretary Rudra Russell, Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary SM Mintu Hossain, International Affairs Secretary Shaheen Alam, executive members Sirajul Islam and Mohammad Zakaria and former general secretary of CRAB Dipu Sarwar were present at the meeting.
