Turkey BIST 100 index rises at Thursday’s open


(MENAFN) Turkey’s benchmark share index started at 2,480.92 points on Thursday, increasing 20.49 points, or 0.83 percent, from the prior end.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index fell 0.14 percent to end Wednesday at 2,460.43 points, with a day-to-day trade figures of 62 billion Turkish liras (USD4.25 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira sales rate ended at 14.6036 as of 10:05 AM local time (07:05GMT), rising 14.5950 at the midweek close.

The euro/lira exchange rate increased to 15.9415 from 15.8130, while a British pound traded for 19.1945 liras, increased 19.0550 at the prior close.

Brent crude oil was traded for about USD107.4 for each barrel on 10 AM local time, while the ounce price of gold stood at USD1,973.50.
