Philippines repatriates more than 200 from Qatar
The Philippines government, under the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte and through the efforts of the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Philippine embassy in Qatar, recently mounted a Philippine Airlines chartered flight to send home more than 200 Filipinos, including children and infants. The chartered repatriation flight is the 15th of its kind to be mounted by the embassy since the start of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
This would not have been possible without the co-operation and support of the Qatar government, the embassy said in a post on Facebook.
The embassy expressed its sincere gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and its Search and Follow Up Department, the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, and Hamad International Airport for their assistance.
