Family Seek Help Of MEA, LG To Bring Body To Kashmir

Srinagar- A Kashmiri girl student from central Kashmir's Budgam district allegedly died of cardiac arrest in Bangladesh, reports said Wednesday.

According to reports, the deceased student has been identified as Seema Zehra daughter of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Zaber Mohalla in Budgam district. She was pursuing Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at Ad din Sakina Medical College Jessore in Bangladesh and was in second year. The real cause of her death is being ascertained.

According to reports, the family has appealed to the Ministry of external Affairs and Lt Governor Administration to help them to bring the students body back for the last rites.

The family of the deceased student is unable to reach Bangladesh since they do not have adequate documents to travel abroad, a close relative said.

“We came to know about her death in the morning and the whole family is in shock” he said, adding that parents of the deceased girl are eagerly waiting for their beloved daughter.

In a tweet, Jammu and Kashmir Students Association J&K Students Association also requested Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to facilitate the return of the MBBS student's body from Bangladesh.

Additional Resident Commissioner of J&K in New Delhi, Niraj Kumar has written to the Ministry of External Affairs for facilitation in ferrying the body of girl Student.

In a communication to joint Secretary (BM) Ministry of External Affairs Kumar has endorsed the letter of Assistant commissioner central with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and has requested the MEA about facilitation in ferrying the corpse of the student from Budgam at an earliest.
