Jordan - House Speaker, Saudi ambassador discuss ties

Amman, Dec. 26 (Petra) -- Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Abdul Karim Doghmi, on Sunday met with Saudi ambassador, Nayef bin Bandar al-Sudairi, to discuss means of cementing bilateral relations in various fields.
Doghmi pointed to the deep-rooted Jordanian-Saudi relations and ongoing joint commitment to bolstering them under the leadership of his majesty King Abdullah II and King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, stressing the need to boost joint parliamentary work between the Jordanian Lower House and the Saudi Consultative Assembly.
He added that Jordan, under its wise leadership, has always called for strengthening the bonds of brotherhood with Arab countries to serve Arab issues, top of which is the Palestinian cause, which was the highlight of a recent Arab Parliament session held in Amman.
For his part, the Saudi envoy underlined that the Jordanian and Saudi positions are supportive of Arab and Islamic interests, pointing out the high level of consultation and coordination between the two countries' leaders.
The ambassador hailed the success of the Arab Parliament's activities, stressing that the gathering of Arab parliamentarians in Amman highlights Jordan's role in bolstering Arab solidarity.
