Dr. Katie Kuschminder is an Associate Professor at UNU-MERIT / Maastricht University. Katie has been working in research for the past ten years and has worked on or managed migration projects for the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection Irregular Migration Research Group, German Development Cooperation, ILO, IOM, and UNHCR. Katie teaches in the MSc in Public Policy and Human Development, the Migration Management Diploma Programme, and coordinates the Migration Studies course at the University College Maastricht. Katie's research is in the field of international migration with a focus on migrant decision making, irregular and return migration. Katie obtained her PhD from Maastricht University in 2014.
