Minister of Sports and Youth says Qatar promises to organise a historic World Cup


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE Minister of Sports and Youth Salah bin Ghanem al-Ali, confirmed that the celebration of the inauguration of the countdown clock for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, a year before the start of the event, which took place this evening, makes all Qataris feel proud, and reflects the great efforts made by the state and the concerned authorities in turning the dream into reality, and presenting a historic championship on behalf of the State of Qatar and the Arab region.

He praised, in a press statement on Sunday Qatar's preparations to host the World Cup, assuring the world that the State of Qatar is determined to present an exceptional edition of the tournament.

He also stressed that all evidence indicates that the world is on a date with a unique edition of the World Cup, and among those indicators is the unveiling of the 974 Stadium, which is unique in its kind as the first stadium that can be dismantled in the history of the World Cup.

His Excellency concluded his statement by saying that what raises the value of the announcement of the readiness of Stadium 974 is that it is the 7th stadium in which work is completed and its readiness is announced a year before the start of the tournament.
