Head of the Afghan commerce chamber Yunus Mohmand said that there has been a 30% increase in the Afghan exports to that reaches $820 and added that the amount will increase as four months of the ongoing year are still left.
Yunus Mohmand said that the Afghan exports comprised dried and fresh fruits and precious stones and gems.
He added that the exports will rise as the Afghan pine nuts are being exported abroad.
Yunus Mohmand and acting minister of commerce of Afghanistan Noorudin Azizi were briefing journalists in Kabul on Sunday, November 14 about their visit to Pakistan.
Noorudin Azizi said that the visit was full of achievements and added that they have solved most of the problems that were never solved with Pakistan.
The acting minister added that now trade trucks can directly go from Kabul to the Pakistani ports namely Karachi and Wagah ports.
“The Torkham and Chaman crossings will be opened for people from 8 am until 6 pm and that a joint committee will be built to solve the problems in the crossings.” Said Azizi.
People and the Afghan traders have been complaining that Pakistan has always pledged to be solving the problems at the crossings and will be bringing facilities but none of the promises have been implemented yet.
