NEW DELHI - Air India has named Senjam Raj Sekhar as its new global head of communications, according to a LinkedIn post by Sekhar.
"Stepping into this role at such a defining juncture in Air India's transformation is an honour and a responsibility that I value deeply," he wrote. "I look forward to working with the exceptional communications team to tell the Air India story as it charts its path to rank among the world's finest carriers."
He added that under the stewardship of the Tata Group, the airline is embarking on a transformative journey, honouring its rich roots while evolving into a world class global airline with an Indian heart.
Sekhar was previously with Mobile Premier League (M-League) as its head of global communications. In the role, he helped navigate and shape M-League's voice amid regulatory challenges and a highly competitive market, crafting strategies that balanced corporate reputation, policy engagement, and competitive positioning.
Prior to that, he was head of corporate communications at Flipkart, a role he held for three years. At Flipkart, Sekhar was responsible for driving the communication and reputation agenda of the ecommerce company.
Sekhar takes the reins from the airline's previous global head of communications, Partha Ghosh. Ghosh helmed the role from 2023 and has now been elevated to the position of advisor to the CEO.
"I will be reporting to Campbell Wilson and I look forward to working with him as Air India continues its transformation journey," he wrote in a LinkedIn update.
"The last two years and nine months have been quite intense, given the scale and pace of the transformation. But despite the headwinds that came along the way, the comms team stood resilient, working with media and other stakeholders with honesty and conviction, and I'm happy with where we are today."
He went on to wish the best to the communications team as well as Sekhar.
