UAE opens its embassy in Israel
The UAE opened its embassy in Israel nearly a year after both countries normalized bilateral relations.
The flag-raising ceremony was attended by United Arab Emirate's ambassador Mohammad Mahmoud Al Khajah and the Israeli president Isaac Herzog.
The new diplomatic mission is reportedly located in Tel Aviv's Stock Exchange building.
UAE ambassador to Israel praised the move and added the commencement of a new mission will bring prosperity, dignity, and peace for the peoples of both countries.
Israeli president Isaac Hergoz on the other hand hailed the opening of the embassy and called it to be a step of paramount importance to security in the Middle East.
Israel on a parallel move opened its embassy in Abdu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai two weeks ago.
Both countries reestablished their bilateral relations in the White House mediated by former President Donald Trump. The relations were rebuilt under Abraham Accord signed by both parties.
Sudan, Bahrain, Egypt, and Morocco are the other four Arabian nations that have normalized ties with Israel.
