Qatar's Al Amri crowned '2021 World King of Drift'


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha: The heated competition of Red Bull Car Park Drift 2021 came to an end at the World Final held in Egypt at Al Manara Arena in Cairo, as Qatar's King of Drift Ahmed Al Amri grabbed himself the first place and clinching the World Title of this year's edition of the renowned event. 

Surrounded by the 13 flags of the participating countries, the enormous track had an intense competition between 19 participants from all over the world. Qatar's Al Amri, came first, followed by the Jordanian Abdullah Abo Hussein in the second place, the Omani Haitham Al Hadidi in the third place, and the Jordanian Anas El Helouin the fourth.

The opening ceremony featured an epic performance by the talented Egyptian band Sharmoofers, who rocked the stage in a perfect fashion while the 6000+spectators restlessly awaited the start of the drifting competition. 

The first heat took off with 19 participants who were graded according to their performance in the following categories: Car looks and design, car sound, tires smoke, drifting skills, flippers, spiral gate, and pendulum.

The second heat literally heated up as the top eight participants from heat 1 showed off their best skills to the judiciary committee from Lebanon, Ukraine and Mauritius. Only four participants made it to the third and final heat including Al Amri, the Omani 2016 Red Bull Car Park Drift world champion Al Hadidi, in addition to the Jordanians Hussein and El Helou. 

The exhilarating drift show heated up even more with the thrilling performance by Red Bull's Drifting Legend Abdo Feghali together with a motorbike show by the Egyptian biker Ramy Sold amid the rounds, spiking up the adrenaline levels among spectators. 

The final four rounds showcased the drifters' best drifting techniques, ending on the great note of Al Amri clinching the world title, only a month after him being crowned the king of drift at the national qualifier in Doha which was held on October 1. 

The event concluded with an epic show from 19 drifters who have paved their way through the national qualifiers in their countries to make it to the world stage.
