Algeria halts armed assault plan supported by Israel


(MENAFN) The Algerian official channel reported that on Wednesday, Oct. 13 Algeria announced that security officials halted a plan by a separatist terror network to conducted armed assaults in the nation.

The plan was prepared by external parties, comprising Israel and a nation in North Africa, without revealing its identity, according to the state-run channel.

In another report, police noted it broke a criminal group associated with the separatist MAK group in the provinces of Tizi Ouzou, Bouira and Bejaia. MAK is considered a terrorist outfit by Algeria.

The report added that 17 suspects were detained as they were plotting to conduct armed assaults that would put the country’s security at risk.
