FM, Arab counterparts discuss cooperation, regional developments


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Cairo, Sept.9 (Petra) - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Thursday held a series of bilateral talks with his Arab counterparts, within the framework of maintaining joint coordination and consultation, on the sidelines of the 156th ordinary session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the ministerial level.
Safadi met Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, to discuss ways to strengthen Jordanian-Kuwaiti "historic and brotherly" relations, adding that the two countries' leaderships exert efforts to expand joint cooperation horizons.
In another meeting, Safadi and Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, pledged continued action to increase bilateral cooperation, and maintain continuous coordination on Arab and regional issues, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, in a manner that reflects the "historic, deep-rooted, brotherly" relations and their "strategic" dimensions.
In addition, Safadi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan stressed the two kingdom's keenness to continue efforts to strengthen "historic, brotherly" relations and cooperation in various fields, in implementation of the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The duo reviewed regional developments, stressing the importance of activating joint Arab action in facing the challenges and crises facing the region.
Safadi's talks with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Lebanese caretaker government, Zina Aker, focused on strengthening the "brotherly and historic" relations between the two brotherly countries.
Safadi expressed the Kingdom's keenness to advance levels of bilateral cooperation with Lebanon, and support Beirut in various circumstances and challenges to preserve the country's security and stability.
