Hungary’s inflation surges 4.9 pct during August
(MENAFN) On Wednesday, Sep. 8 figures released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) showed that Hungary’s consumer prices were higher by 4.9 percent on average last month from a year ago.
The number is well above the 3-percent inflation goal of the Hungarian central bank MNB.
Consumer prices increased 0.2 percent on average in comparison with July.
The KSH noted that on a yearly basis, food prices surged by 3.7 percent, alcoholic drinks and tobacco prices increased by 10.5 percent on average, whereas consumers paid an extra 4.4 for durable commodities.
