Amir holds phone call with German Chancellor

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Doha  - The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held a telephone conversation with Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany HE Dr. Angela Merkel on Tuesday evening.

During the phone call which HH the Amir received from HE the German Chancellor, the two sides reviewed the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, in particular the developments in Afghanistan and their repercussions.

Both sides underlined the importance of continuing the talks and intensifying the necessary efforts to achieve the national reconciliation and the peaceful transfer of power for the interest of the Afghan people.

The phone call also touched on the strong bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of promoting and enhancing them. (QNA)
