Beach volleyball: Qatar jumps to 7th position in FIVB World Rankings

Doha: Owing to good run of form in recent events, Qatar’s top beach volleyball duo of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan jumped to 7th position in the latest FIVB World Rankings. 

The Qatari pair, which won a gold and two silver medals in Cancun, Mexico recently collected a total of 5280 points to improve their world rankings.  

The pair is now gearing up for the Sochi World Tour, which will be held from May 26 to 30 in Russia, with 62 teams representing 27 countries.

Meanwhile, Norway leads the rankings with 7840 followed by Russia (6140) on second place, with Brazil (5680 points) taking third.
