(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
RAMALLAH, May 7 (KUNA) -- A total of 16 Palestinians were wounded in Jerusalem by Israeli occupation forces on Friday after storming Al-Aqsa Mosque after Maghrib prayer.
In a press statement, the Palestinian Red Crescent said that 14 were wounded when Israeli soldiers raided the Mosque courtyard, while the other two were wounded in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood where clashes continued there.
Most of the injuries were in the eyes and in the abdomen by rubber bullets, the statement added.
Moreover, videos from inside Al-Aqsa showed that the occupation forces attacked Palestinians, with rubber bullets, tear gas and sound bombs, which targeted worshipers, including children, women and elderly people.
Furthermore, in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem, the other two were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets during the clashes, the Red Crescent reported.
According to eyewitness, the confrontations took place after Israeli settlers performed Talmudic prayers in the neighborhood, coinciding with the time for Iftar.
The encounter between Palestinian youths and the occupation soldiers extended to Bab Al-Amoud Square. (end)
