Tunisia's PM exclude national curfew in spite of rise in coronavirus infections

(MENAFN) The Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) stated that on Tuesday, Apr. 6 Tunisia's Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi ruled out the possibility of enforcing a national curfew in spite of the rise in coronavirus infections.

Mechichi noted as cited by the TAP: "it is not possible to impose a general lockdown in Tunisia because of the socio-economic difficulties."

Mechichi further said: "we cannot prevent certain categories of the population from working."

Yet he refused to exclude the possibility of changing the lockdown hours, noting that the Tunisian scientific committee for the combat against the COVID-19 will talk about essential anti-pandemic procedures on Wednesday.
